we are boq is a design studio founded by Guilherme Cartaxo and Miguel Duarte in 2004 and formally established as a company in 2009. We work in the fields of print, web and identity design, with public institutions, international organizations and small companies, mostly in the culture and education sectors. We believe in design as a participative process that cannot be isolated from its context and thus try to actively engage clients and users throughout the whole process.

Guilherme Cartaxo

Guilherme Cartaxo

Before founding we are boq, Guilherme worked as an architect in different countries and projects. From these experiences he gained a strong cultural sensitivity and belief that the user is the end reason for his work. On the day he understood that having various interests is a quality, he began to call himself a designer and has never looked back.
